Harrison Rush Leadership Team

Since 2009 The Leaders in Investment Banking Recruiting

Tom Ragland

In 2008, I founded the Harrison Rush Group. Lehman had collapsed, and Bear Stearns was sold to JP Morgan. I also had just adopted my youngest child from Vietnam. The world was pretty crazy, but there were a lot of opportunities. Seven years before, I worked in the South Tower of the World Trade. 9/11 and the 2008 collapse taught me not to take things for granted. It also taught me that what I cherish most are my relationships. I started the firm not to conquer the world but to have the freedom not to have a boss and be able to spend time with my new baby and family. It was the best professional decision I ever made. I have been focused on Investment Banking recruiting from Global Heads to Analysts since 2003. What I love most is talking to candidates and managers. I have a natural sense of empathy and love to listen to a job seeker and help them figure out what they want to do. I am also very curious about why an HR pro or Hiring Manager is hiring and why they want to hire a certain person. I ask a lot of questions. We are selective in the banks we work with. They have to be good people and trustworthy. What gets me excited is connecting with people. I completed my Interfaith Ministry degree, and I am an accomplished musician. I run a music therapy program for Alzheimer’s patients, which gives me a lot of joy.
